Very flimsy paper tray...keeps jamming up or grabing multiple pages at once...Do not like this, dont care how nice it prints. This one is going back. I bought this to replace the HP 6500, which was another nightmare with setup with
Vista. After two days any multiple hours on the phone with HP tech support, which we could not understand as they were in India, we boxed it up and took it back. Gonna try the Canon Pixma MX870 all-in-one printer. I hope the reviews we accurate.

Printer is over all good except for custom paper sizing. Not all sizes are available in borderless.

« Epson Artisan 810 - Such a Deal! »

If you think of all the things you get for a relatively small amount of $$, you really can't beat the Artisan 810. It was simple to set up and get printing. I bought this to go with my new MacBook (not yet received) but set it up on my existing Windows XP computers. No problemo! Photo quality is awesome. 2 sided printing works great. Replacement cartridges are a bit pricey but shop around for the best deal. Expect to pay about $65 for high capacity replacement cartridges. Color copying works great. Easy set up for my home wireless network. Allow about an hour to install the software but it went without a hitch (always an adventure on a Windoze platform). You can't go wrong with this printer!

In short, it is a very good AIO printer with a lot of easy to use features. Here is my short list of likes and dislikes:

What I like:
1. Auto duplexing, no need to flip the page over for it to print on the other side.
2. Every feature I can ask for
3. Color fax (send and receive).
4. The front touch panel changes the command uttons based on what you want to do, in short, it only shows you the buttons that you NEED at that time
5. Scanner can work as a flat bed or document feeder, great for making copies of important papers
6. Easy to see how much ink you have left right from the printer.
7. Easy wifi setup, much easier than I was expecting.
8. You can scan using WIFI, yep, you can scan without hooking it up to your computer.
9. You can scan documents/pictures/etc directly to a memory card or USB thumb drive.
10. Prints directly onto printable CD/DVD dics.
11. Prints awesome photos using Epson glossy paper, yes it makes a difference
12. I was nervous about so many people having pper jam problems, but I have yet to have that problem, not once.

What I don't like:
1. A bit loud when waking up to print, not too bad though.
2. Uses a little more ink than I expected, but the ink does not cost all that much as you have 6 colors separate, so you only buy the color you need.
3. The OCR software that comes with it is, in my opinion, useless, download FreeOCR if you want to convert scanned text to editable text.

All in all, if I could go back and choose any other pinter, I would still choose this one no questions asked, knock on wood.

Normally, I only buy HP printers. Ihave used HP for over 30 years. Recently, I had problems with the newer HPs and switched to two epsom printrs. I am ver happy I did.
