« Does what it's supposed to. »

I wanted a green laser pointer to use at star parties and public observing nights so I could point out particular stars and locations in the sky easily. However, the nature of these things limits their use to at best "now and then" so I didn't want to fork out a ton of money for something that 90% of the time sat in my toolbox. I also didn't trust any of the $10 ones to last or do what they were supposed to do (shine a good line, not just make green light).

I'm happy to report that this pointer seems to be doing everything expected of it. It came in a decent heavy-cardboard box with a foam insert for the batteries and pointer. The pointer itself is pretty sturdy and was free of build marks or scratches. Like many pointers it unscrews in the middle so that the batteries go in one end. The button wiggles loosely but works perfectly.

Haven't had any major issues with the pen yet. Minor issues...The button is pretty light, so you have to watch you don't accidentally turn it on. It'll go on in your pocket, and I've even had it go on when the pen was placed on a table and rolled to lean on the button. Also, a couple nights ago while out observing the pen hiccuped a few times. A good shake seemed to teach it a lesson and since then it haven't given me any problems.

So obviously it's not an ultra-robust tank-grade $100 pointer, but for what this one costs, you get a good pointer.

« Disappointed and frustrated »

I purchased this laser pointer and was able to use it once. When I went to use it for the 2nd time, it was not functional. I changed the batteries and it was still not working. I understand that these things happen, so I contacted the seller and asked for either a refund or a new laser pointer to replace this one, which was hopefully just a defective item, and not a problem with the whole line. They were unwilling to assist and said I could only purchase another one. In addition to this product not being worthy of purchase, I would suggest against ordering products from this seller.

« Loses power »

I received this Laser as a Birthday Gift and could not be more disappointed with this product. Out of the box it sends a brilliant beam into the night sky and almost immediately begins to flicker and dim until there is barely a visable beam of light. We tried new batteries... even lithium batteries for good measure. Still no change.

« Worked well... for the first 3 days. »

The brightness and distance of this laser were outstanding for the first three days and then on the third day it just died. I replaced the batteries and the laser was still not as good as when I got it. DO NOT BUY. It is a waste of money and I found that out the hard way.

« Pretty Good »

Pretty bright, but I doubt it is 50mW. Good construction for the body, but the button could be a little tighter. Main gripe is that the beam can't be focused and gets pretty big when you shoot it at a building a mile away...
